Global hydrogen firms to gather at WHE 2026, spanning full value chain

The World Hydrogen Expo (WHE) Organizing Committee on Tuesday unveiled the list of domestic and international hydrogen companies set to take part in WHE 2026, Asia's largest hydrogen industry event, which will run from Nov. 4 to 6 at Kintex in Goyang.

Participating companies will set up booths in Exhibition Hall 2 (halls 7 and 8) to showcase future hydrogen technologies spanning hydrogen production — including water electrolysis, carbon capture and renewable energy — hydrogen storage and transport, covering hydrogen charging stations, hydrogen tanks, liquefaction and gas handling, pipelines, transportation and safety, and hydrogen utilization, including mobility, fuel cells, services, steel and chemicals.

Among domestic companies, Hyundai Motor Group and the Kolon Group will attend. Hyundai Motor Group will present an integrated hydrogen business vision spanning production, utilization and ecosystem building, centered on its hydrogen brand and business platform, HTWO. The group will showcase its technological and business capabilities in hydrogen production through MW-class polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) water electrolysis technology and its Waste-to-Hydrogen (W2H) resource-circulation hydrogen production business model.

The group will also present enhanced-durability commercial fuel cell systems and mobility solutions for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and rail, highlighting the elevated utility of hydrogen mobility. In particular, the group plans to present hydrogen business models optimized for national and regional conditions, based on various hydrogen ecosystem-building scenarios including the Saemangeum AI Valley.

At last year's event, seven Hyundai Motor Group affiliates — Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Steel, Hyundai E&C, Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Glovis and Hyundai Rotem — set up a joint booth centered on HTWO and presented technologies and capabilities spanning the hydrogen value chain, including hydrogen production, hydrogen charging and storage, hydrogen mobility and industrial applications, alongside various real-world application cases.

Kolon Group affiliates will exhibit core components for hydrogen systems. Kolon Industries will present fuel cell water management devices, PEM materials and membrane humidifier housing materials. Its water control devices will include products for electric vehicles as well as its Ecomate membrane humidifier products developed for various applications such as emergency power generation, ships and trains. Kolon Space Works plans to present its self-developed carbon fiber intermediate material Towpreg, along with a "total hydrogen storage solution" that internalizes the entire value chain — from liners and hydrogen storage tanks to module systems — encompassing everything from materials to components and finished systems.

This year, in addition to large corporations, a number of emerging mid-sized and small companies that have focused on developing detailed hydrogen industry technologies, along with specialized firms in various fields, have also signed on.

Sungwoo Hitech, a global specialist in automotive body parts, will unveil small, medium and large TYPE4 high-pressure hydrogen storage vessels currently under development that have received UNR-134 certification from the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and certification from the Korea Gas Safety Corp., along with a flat-type hydrogen storage system.

Also participating are Sumitomo SHI Cryogenics Korea, which will present cryogenic cooling systems and specialized services; Terarix, a developer and supplier of air-cooled PEM hydrogen fuel cell stacks and systems, which will showcase its self-developed HYCUS stack platform and related system products; and Technical Korea, which brings engineering expertise in gas compression and purification systems and will present a high-purity hydrogen purification device.

Haps, a company offering sustainable energy solutions through high-efficiency power packs and systems, will join the Pohang Techno Park joint pavilion at this year's expo to unveil its hydrogen fuel cell technology.

The participation of overseas companies is also notable. Taiwanese firm E-Vehicle Semiconductor Technology, drawing on its expertise in hydrogen sensors used across drones, fuel cells, hydrogen production facilities and hydrogen charging stations, will exhibit its HN01001 fixed-type hydrogen gas detector, which applies microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology.

Japan's Tmeic Corporation, a global leader in industrial systems and solutions with power electronics and motor technology spanning the hydrogen value chain from production to compression and liquefaction, plans to present a power supply device (high-current rectifier) for water electrolysis in the production segment at this year's exhibition.

"This exhibition will offer a look at the rapidly evolving technology trends across the entire hydrogen industry value chain," the WHE Organizing Committee said. "We will do everything we can to create business opportunities so that the future technologies companies present can bear fruit."

Meanwhile, WHE 2025, held last December, drew about 25,000 visitors over four days who came to learn about the latest technology trends in the hydrogen sector and take part in various hands-on programs.
