Liriope clusters bloom along pine forest trail, drawing visitors to scenic healing path
Ahead of autumn, walking trails in Naepo New Town in South Chungcheong Province are putting on a spectacular display as purple liriope flowers reach full bloom.
The liriope cluster connects the pine forest trail near Bohun Park with the Naepo Art Village in Naepo New Town. Visitors can reach it by parking at the Hongseong parking lot in Hongye Park and walking about three minutes toward Yongbongsan.
Benches and other rest facilities have been set up along the stretch where the liriope flowers form a purple wave, allowing visitors to stop and relax.
Liriope is a shade-loving plant that thrives even in dark spots and serves as a representative indicator species. It blooms with purple flowers from summer through autumn, creating a beautiful scene along the forest trail.
"The beautiful purple clusters of liriope offer a sense of healing," a provincial official said. "We hope people will come enjoy the mood of a purple autumn with family and neighbors before the flowers fully wilt."
