Hankook brand pavilion runs Tuesday through Saturday

'Strengthening our push into the European aftermarket'
Hankook & Company Group announced Wednesday that it will take part in Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, Europe's largest automotive parts trade show, running through Saturday (local time) in Frankfurt, Germany.
Automechanika Frankfurt, launched in 1971, is a global trade show for automotive parts and services held every two years. The event brings together a wide range of exhibitions and programs showcasing the latest products and technology trends in the auto parts and service industry.
This year's fair will see the Energy Solution (ES) division — the battery business unit of Hankook & Company, the group's operating holding company — team up with Hanon Systems, a global automotive thermal energy management solutions provider. The two will jointly run a Hankook brand pavilion.
According to market researcher Straits Research, the global automotive aftermarket was valued at $446 billion in 2025, with Europe accounting for 24.6 percent, or $109.7 billion, of that total.
Hankook & Company's Energy Solution division will showcase its lineup of premium Hankook-brand batteries, including AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat), EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) and MF (Maintenance Free) models. These incorporate the company's latest lead-acid battery technology for vehicles.
Hankook & Company's AGM batteries are optimized for Start-Stop systems and electric vehicles, offering up to four times the lifespan and superior durability compared with standard MF batteries. The batteries can deliver stable power even in the latest vehicle environments with heavy power demands, such as advanced driver-assistance systems and high-performance infotainment. This allows the company to meet the diverse and exacting demands of European customers who require high quality and advanced technology.
Hankook & Company also operates diversified manufacturing bases in South Korea and the United States. This lets it respond flexibly to changes in trade and regulatory conditions affecting Chinese-made auto parts in Europe. The company plans to leverage its stable supply chain and quality competitiveness to efficiently supply premium battery products to the European market.
Under the message "OE technology-based solutions," Hanon Systems will seek new growth opportunities in the European aftermarket. It plans to draw on the top-tier thermal management technology and finished-vehicle quality standards it has accumulated in the global OE market. After formalizing its aftermarket expansion plan on its website Aug. 28, the company will use this exhibition to unveil detailed strategies to aftermarket partners for the first time.
Hanon Systems has long supplied global automakers with core automotive thermal management components, including HVAC systems, compressors, powertrain cooling and fluid transport equipment. Europe is its largest market, accounting for more than 35 percent of total sales.
Hanon Systems plans to expand its aftermarket business based on its own OE thermal management technology and expertise. It will also explore potential synergies with the group's experience in the mobility and aftermarket sectors. Through this, the company aims to gradually build a new growth foundation in the global aftermarket, including Europe.
Meanwhile, Hankook & Company Group is also actively recruiting talent to support sustainable growth. Its operating holding company, Hankook & Company, and Hankook Tire & Technology are each running open recruitment drives for new hires in the second half of the year.
