LH unveils 'future AI city' at World Smart City Expo

Korea Land and Housing Corporation will run an exhibition hall at the 2026 World Smart City Expo, held Wednesday through Friday at Bexco in Busan, the corporation said Wednesday.

Now marking its 10th anniversary, the World Smart City Expo is hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Busan city government. It is Asia's largest event dedicated to promoting smart city policy and supporting the global expansion of Korean companies.

At this year's expo, LH will present "WONDER LH: AI ON THE LAND," an exhibition that presents the concept of an AI-powered city through a theme park format.

The exhibition hall is divided into five sections designed to let visitors experience and easily understand the future of AI cities and the role AI technology will play in them. Its centerpiece, "CITY BRAIN," illustrates the mechanics of an AI city by combining footage projected on a large media tower with performances by a humanoid robot.

During the expo, LH also plans to run a range of programs centered on AI- and data-driven urban planning and global smart city cooperation.

LH has already been expanding its use of AI, including through an AI-based smart monitoring system that strengthens safety management of retaining walls at its rental housing complexes.
