Justice Minister Nominee Kim Seung-won arrives at his confirmation hearing preparation office in the Jeokseon Hyundai Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on Wednesday morning. Kim faces allegations that in 2021 he lobbied the then-head of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety at the request of a broker identified as Yang. Kim allegedly sought approval for a clinical trial of a COVID-19 treatment developed by pharmaceutical company Genencell.
