Dobong-gu locks in W9b gift certificate blitz ahead of chuseok

Dobong-gu will issue 9 billion won ($6.71 million) worth of Dobong Love Gift Certificates ahead of chuseok, aiming to boost local consumption and support small business owners' sales.

The gift certificates go on sale at a 5 percent discount starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday through the Seoul Pay Plus app. Each person may purchase up to 500,000 won per month, with a total holding limit of 1.5 million won.

The certificates can be used at merchants across the district for a wide range of purposes, from holiday grocery shopping to dining out and buying daily necessities.

"Ahead of chuseok, I hope the Dobong Love Gift Certificates help ease the financial burden on residents' shopping baskets, even if just a little," said Kim Dong-uk, the Dobong-gu district mayor.
