Aston Martin unveils first road-legal motorcycle, limited to 300 units

British sports car brand Aston Martin is introducing its first road-legal motorcycle. Developed with Brough Superior, the AMB 002 Roadster produces 130 horsepower and weighs a light 190 kilograms. Only 300 units will be built worldwide.

Aston Martin said Thursday it had unveiled the AMB 002 Roadster, co-developed with Brough Superior. It is the two companies' third collaboration, following the track-only AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro released in 2019 and 2022. It marks their first vehicle approved for regular road use.

The AMB 002 is powered by a 1,083cc four-stroke, water-cooled V-twin engine that generates 130 horsepower and 110 Newton meters of maximum torque. The engine is designed, machined and assembled at Brough Superior's headquarters in Toulouse, France.

The companies also focused on trimming weight. The frame, carved from a single titanium block, weighs 5 kilograms, while the body panels and fuel tank are made of carbon fiber. The finished motorcycle weighs 190 kilograms with a 50-50 front-to-rear weight distribution.

Instead of a conventional telescopic fork, the front wheel uses Brough Superior's double-wishbone "Fior fork." The design separates the forces generated during braking and steering, keeping the chassis stable under hard braking or through high-speed corners.

The design borrows several signature Aston Martin cues. The exhaust incorporates elements from the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S, while the rear lighting draws on the brand's high-performance models, including the Valkyrie and Valhalla. The motorcycle also features keyless ignition and hand-stitched leather seats.

"Creating a road-legal Aston Martin motorcycle has long been a dream of mine," said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's chief creative officer. "The AMB 002 combines bold design with engineering innovation."

Each AMB 002 will be hand-built to order, with production capped at 300 units. The motorcycle is now open for preorder, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin has been expanding its motorsport activities beyond cars. At the recent World Endurance Championship round in Austin, Texas, the Vantage GT3 claimed its first win of the season, with the Heart of Racing team finishing first and third.
