Gwangjin-gu to host 2026 Chuseok farm and seafood direct sale market

Gwangjin-gu will host the "2026 Chuseok Farm and Seafood Direct Sale Market," offering residents high-quality agricultural and marine specialty products at reasonable prices ahead of the chuseok holiday.

The event will take place Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the plaza in front of Naru Art Center, near the Lotte Department Store's Konkuk University Star City branch.

A total of 19 groups will take part in the market, including eight of Gwangjin-gu's sister and friendship cities, along with local small and medium-sized enterprises and the saemaul women's association, selling regional specialties as well as a variety of food and lifestyle products.

Visitors can purchase regional specialties at prices below market rate, including omija (schisandra berry) syrup from Yangpyeong, dried gulbi corvina from Yeonggwang, apple gift sets from Mungyeong, and ginger confections from Seosan. Alongside this, lifestyle items such as bags, leather goods and scarves will be available, along with a spread of food including drip-bag coffee, assorted savory pancakes and mosi songpyeon, rice cakes made with ramie leaf.

Free hands-on programs will also be offered for visitors. From 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., attendees can decorate pots with air-purifying Scandia moss plants or make traditional knot keyrings, with each visitor allowed to join one program. The experience programs may close early if materials run out.

Gwangjin-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "We organized this market to ease the burden on residents' grocery budgets amid high inflation and to promote mutual growth with our sister cities." He added, "I hope residents will prepare for a warm and abundant Chuseok at this direct sale market, filled with excellent specialty products and enjoyable activities."
