Daejeon Chamber, Xi'an trade body join hands to expand bilateral trade, investment

The Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Xi'an Trade Promotion Committee signed an investment agreement to build a mutual cooperation framework. The deal aims to boost economic and trade cooperation and expand exchange and investment opportunities between companies.

The Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an MOU with the Xi'an branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on Wednesday. The signing, held at the chamber's reception room, focused on friendly cooperation to boost economic and trade exchange. The Xi'an branch is led by Chairman Ma Xiaoqin.

Attendees from the Daejeon side included Chamber Chairman Jung Tae-hee, Vice Chairman Yoo Seung-kyo, CEO of Withtech Co., Park Chan-gu, CEO of We World Co., and Secretary General Jung Ho-young. The Xi'an delegation included Ma Xiaoqin, chairman of the Xi'an Trade Promotion Committee, and Zhang Yong, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xi'an Municipal People's Government. Other government and business officials also attended.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will introduce each other's economic and trade activities and support mutual company visits and exchanges. They will also exchange trade, market and corporate information and share information on local exhibitions and trade fairs while supporting company participation in them. In addition, they will provide advisory services on policies and regulations related to economic and trade affairs, customs, taxation and investment.

"Xi'an is a city with advanced industries such as aerospace and high-end equipment manufacturing, and Daejeon also has strong science and technology and advanced industry capabilities centered on the Daedeok Innopolis," said Jung Tae-hee, chairman of the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "Connecting the industrial strengths of the two cities could generate considerable synergy."

He added, "The Daejeon chamber will provide practical support, including building local networks and finding business partners, so that local companies can smoothly enter the Xi'an market."
