Korea Housing Builders Association delivers over W100m in chuseok donations to welfare facilities

The Korea Housing Builders Association said Thursday that it delivered donations to social welfare facilities across the country ahead of chuseok.

On Wednesday, the association visited 13 regional facilities, including the social welfare corporation Seongjaewon in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, for its "2026 Social Welfare Facility Donation Ceremony."

The event, joined by the association's headquarters and 13 city and provincial chapters, delivered a total of 106 million won ($79,200) in donations to social welfare facilities nationwide, including child care institutions and support centers for people with disabilities.

Key executives who attended the headquarters ceremony included Association Chairman Kim Seong-eun, Vice Chairman Jeon Moon-su, Seoul Chapter Head Kim Young-gon and Daejeon-Sejong-South Chungcheong Province Chapter Head Kim Yong-gwan. The association's executives met Yoon Yeo-woong, chairman of Jeil Construction and CEO of Seongjaewon, to personally deliver a 5 million won donation and review the facility's work.

"We hope this chuseok brings warmth to those in our community who need attention and care," Kim said. "We will continue listening to the voices of local welfare facilities like Seongjaewon and underserved communities, and keep expanding our support and sharing efforts."

Founded in 1985, the Korea Housing Builders Association is a leading organization in the housing industry with about 8,300 member companies, and it has fulfilled its social responsibility through various philanthropic activities. These include a housing improvement project for national merit recipients that marks its 33rd year this year, along with ongoing support for disaster recovery and other assistance for vulnerable groups.
