The National Health Insurance Service said Friday it visited the Korea Senior Citizens Association in Jung-gu, Seoul, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation on elderly welfare and support for healthy retirement living in response to South Korea's super-aged society.

Korea Senior Citizens Association Chairman Lee Joong-keun said the NHIS "has been proactively pursuing a wide range of projects to promote the health and welfare of seniors who drove South Korea's growth," adding that he hoped the two organizations would "work closely together going forward to improve elderly welfare and advance their rights and interests."

NHIS President Kang Cheong-hee said cooperation between the two organizations is essential to meeting the challenges of a super-aged society. "The NHIS and the Korea Senior Citizens Association will be steadfast partners in supporting a healthy and happy retirement for our seniors," she said.
