A drowsy truck driver caused a 10-vehicle chain-reaction collision in Incheon's Seohaegu district Saturday, injuring five people.
According to Yonhap, an 11-ton truck driven by a man in his 40s, identified only as A, rear-ended a car stopped at a red light near Gyeongseo Intersection in Seohaegu at around 8:37 p.m.
The impact sent the car sliding into surrounding traffic, setting off a chain collision that damaged 10 vehicles, including a motorcycle. Emergency responders transported all five injured to a hospital.
A told police he "failed to see the car ahead properly because he was drowsy at the wheel."
"The five injured were classified as minor cases, as none sustained serious injuries," a police official said, adding that authorities plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
