Jongno-gu held the 2026 Jongno Hanbok Festival at Gwanghwamun Square on Friday and Saturday.
This year's festival was organized around the theme of "Hanbok x Gugak" under the slogan "Wearing Our Clothing, Our Music," featuring a range of performances, exhibitions and hands-on experiences.
On the first day, an opening parade and ceremony were held with about 80 district residents and the Seoul Children's Chwita Band. Saturday's highlight was the hanbok showcase competition, followed by an awards ceremony and celebratory performances.
"It is deeply meaningful to hold a hanbok festival at Gwanghwamun Square, the heart of Seoul and a symbol of Korea, where the beauty of our traditional attire and melodies come together," Jongno-gu District Mayor Yu Chan-jong said.
