Zero Stress, Maximum Fun! Yangcheon Rock Festival Set for Saturday

Yangcheon-gu will host the 2026 Yangcheon Rock Festival, an outdoor music festival spanning generations and genres, at Sinwol Baseball Stadium and the Culture Deck Plaza of West Seoul Lake Park on Saturday.

Now in its fourth year, the Yangcheon Rock Festival was created to bring culture within easy reach of residents in Sinwol-dong, an area affected by airport noise. By channeling that local reality into the energy of live music, the festival has grown into one of the district's signature cultural events.

This year, organizers have broadened the festival's scope beyond its rock roots, leaning into the Korean word "nak" — meaning joy or pleasure — to welcome a wider range of genres. Trot music, soul and jazz join rock on the lineup, making the event accessible to audiences of all ages and musical tastes.

The main stage at Sinwol Baseball Stadium runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring a lineup that crosses genre lines. Rock band Solutions opens with their sharp, textured sound, followed by jazz harmonica artist Jeon Je-deok Band and soul vocalist BMK. Trot singer Song Ga-in closes the night as the headline finale act.

This year the festival expands its footprint to West Seoul Lake Park, where busking performances by French Jazz, Epilogue and Yeonhui Company Cheongnam will take place at the Culture Deck Plaza from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The intimate outdoor sets offer a contrast to the main-stage spectacle — giving local artists a new performance platform and residents a chance to enjoy music in a relaxed, everyday setting.

In keeping with the festival's multigenerational character, the event will operate as a picnic-style gathering where families, friends and neighbors can spread out blankets or cushions and enjoy the autumn atmosphere at their own pace.

Admission to the 2026 Yangcheon Rock Festival is free and requires no advance reservation, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis up to a capacity of 2,500. For further details, contact the Yangcheon Cultural Foundation.
