Elementary school student who scratched a parked vehicle while cycling does the right thing

A heartwarming story is making the rounds online about an elementary school student who accidentally scratched a parked vehicle while riding his bicycle and handled the situation with remarkable maturity.

A post recently appeared on the online community Bobaedream under the title: "My son fell off his bicycle and scratched a parked vehicle, then called the owner himself."

The author, identified only as A, said her fourth-grade son lost his balance while turning out of a parking lot and fell. "At first he cried after the accident, but it seems he calmed himself down," she wrote.

She also shared the text message her son had sent to the vehicle's owner.

In the message, the boy told the owner, "I accidentally hit your vehicle while riding my bicycle," and added, "I'm an elementary school student and didn't know what to do, so I'm calling you."

A said she was proud of her son's response. "He called and texted the owner himself, which I think is admirable," she wrote, adding that she planned to meet the owner in person to apologize and handle the matter properly.
