Clear skies nationwide Tuesday, but Seoul faces 12-degree temperature swing

Skies will be mostly clear across the country on Tuesday, though residents should watch out for large temperature swings throughout the day.

Morning lows are forecast to range from 12 to 20 degrees Celsius, while afternoon highs will reach between 24 and 29 degrees — near seasonal averages. The daily temperature gap is expected to remain wide, at 10 to 15 degrees.

Forecast lows and highs for major cities are: Seoul 15 and 27 degrees, Incheon 16 and 26, Daejeon 14 and 27, Gwangju 17 and 29, Daegu 17 and 28, Ulsan 19 and 27, and Busan 20 and 28.

Southern regions will see occasional clouds, while the East Sea coast and inland mountain areas of Gangwon Province and the East Sea coast of the Gyeongsang region will be mostly overcast.

The wide day-to-night temperature gap of 10 to 15 degrees will persist across most of the country for now, except along the East Sea coast, so residents are advised to take care of their health.

Scattered sprinkles of less than 0.1 millimeters are possible through the morning along the Gangwon Province East Sea coast and mountain areas, along the North Gyeongsang Province East Sea coast in the morning, and in Busan in the afternoon.

Rainfall of less than 5 millimeters is expected in the afternoon along the North Gyeongsang Province East Sea coast and in Ulsan.

Fine dust levels are forecast to be "good" nationwide.

Wave heights are expected to reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters in East Sea coastal waters and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the Yellow Sea and South Sea.

In offshore waters roughly 200 kilometers from the coastline, wave heights are forecast at 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East and South seas and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the Yellow Sea.
