About 75,441 square meters near Jungnang Station to be redeveloped across four integrated street-housing zones, with residential zoning upgrade and road widening planned
Jungnang-gu announced Thursday that the Seoul Metropolitan Government had approved and officially notified the Moa Town management plan for the area around 299-8 Junghwa-dong.
The Moa Town project covers 75,441.6 square meters and will integrate four street-housing zones into a single redevelopment, with a total of 1,778 apartment units set to be built from 2027 onward.
The site borders Jungnangcheon Stream to the west and benefits from strong public transit access, with Jungnang Station on the Gyeongui–Jungang Line to the south and Junghwa Station on Line 7 to the north.
Under the approved management plan, the zoning designation for the project area will be upgraded from second-class general residential to third-class general residential. Existing 8-meter roads will also be widened to between 12 and 15 meters as part of broader infrastructure improvements.
Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said the approval had laid the groundwork for improving the residential environment in the Junghwa-dong area. "We will support the administrative procedures to ensure each zone's project moves forward smoothly, and we will continue to monitor progress so that housing conditions can be improved in a way that suits local needs," he said.
