Holiday events run Thursday through Monday at Dogok Market, Gangnam Gaepo Market, Yeoksam-dong Alley Shopping District and Yeongdong Traditional Market, featuring market-specific discounts, Onuri gift voucher refunds, prize giveaways and same-day delivery.
Gangnam-gu will hold Chuseok holiday events at four traditional markets and shopping districts — Dogok Market, Gangnam Gaepo Market, Yeoksam-dong Alley Shopping District and Yeongdong Traditional Market — from Thursday through Monday.
Each venue will offer a range of benefits tailored to its character, including discounts on ritual food items, Onuri gift voucher refunds, prize events, folk games and same-day local delivery. A total of 302 shops across the four commercial areas will take part.
Dogok Market will run its "2026 Chuseok Deodeurim Event" on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m., offering 3 to 10 percent discounts on ritual food items, meat, fruit and seafood, along with folk game activities such as tuho (ring toss) and jegi (shuttlecock kicking). Customers who spend 30,000 won ($22) or more on the day will be eligible for prize giveaways. Those whose combined purchases at the market reach 30,000 won or more can also use a same-day delivery service covering areas within a 5-kilometer radius.
Gangnam Gaepo Market will discount meat, fruit, rice cakes and banchan by 5 to 30 percent on Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Customers who spend 50,000 won or more on the day will receive a 20 percent refund in Onuri gift vouchers worth 10,000 won, up to a maximum of 20,000 won per person. Promotional merchandise will also be given out to customers who shop at participating discount stores, install the Digital Onuri app or complete event verification. Same-day delivery within a 4-kilometer radius is available for combined purchases of 50,000 won or more.
The Yeoksam-dong Alley Shopping District will hold two sessions of its "Chuseok Customer Appreciation Refund Event" on the same day — from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Onuri gift voucher refunds will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis according to spending: 10,000 won for purchases of 40,000 won or more, 20,000 won for 80,000 won or more, and 30,000 won for 120,000 won or more. Staff will also be on hand to guide visitors through signing up for and using the Digital Onuri platform.
Yeongdong Traditional Market will host its "Find the Chuseok Lucky Pouch" event on Monday from noon to 4 p.m. Customers who spend 50,000 won or more on the day will receive a lucky pouch containing prizes, and free songpyeon rice cakes and eco shopping bags will be distributed. Same-day delivery within a 5-kilometer radius is available for combined purchases of 30,000 won or more.
Alongside this, Gangnam-gu employees will take part in a traditional market and shopping district outing on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., aimed at boosting the holiday atmosphere and bringing vitality to local commerce.

"We will continue to provide diverse support to breathe new life into traditional markets and neighborhood commercial areas."
