Donations of 100,000 won or more made through the Mega Order app earn mobile gift vouchers worth up to 15,000 won
WeGive, a private platform for South Korea's hometown donation program, said Wednesday it is running a donation campaign with Mega MGC Coffee to expand participation in the initiative.
Through the end of this year, customers who donate 100,000 won ($74) or more to a local government outside their registered address can receive a Mega MGC Coffee mobile gift voucher. The campaign is accessible through the coffee chain's official app, Mega Order, and its website, which together serve more than 4,400 stores nationwide.
Donors who give between 100,000 won and less than 150,000 won will receive a 10,000 won voucher, while those who give 150,000 won or more will receive a 15,000 won voucher. Each person may participate once.
WeGive said it plans to expand partnerships with everyday lifestyle brands following the tie-up with Mega MGC Coffee.
"For the hometown donation market to grow, we need to keep creating touchpoints with people who have yet to experience it," a WeGive official said. "We will work with brands that are close to people's daily lives to make hometown donations more accessible and familiar, and expand a partnership model where companies and local governments support their regions together."
