Minister of Gender Equality and Family Won Min-kyung held a briefing at Government Complex Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on Wednesday morning to announce a plan to introduce abortion medication. Won said the government would phase in access to abortion pills for women up to nine weeks pregnant.
