Hanjin executives inspect chuseok delivery operations, vow to strengthen workplace safety

Hanjin launched a series of inspections ahead of the chuseok holiday to ensure stable freight operations and strengthen workplace safety.

The company said Wednesday that President and CEO Roh Sam-seok and President Cho Hyun-min visited the Dong Seoul Hub terminal on Tuesday to review operations during the chuseok peak season and encourage workers on site.

The two executives received a briefing at the terminal's control room on peak-season operations before touring cargo intake, dispatch and transport routes. They then moved to the loading and unloading areas to check the safe operation of sorting equipment and identify potential hazards on the work floor.

Management also inspected working conditions and employee amenities before handing out burgers, beverages and other gifts to workers on site. They urged staff to follow safety protocols and take adequate rest.

During this year's chuseok peak season, Hanjin plans to run more than 100 major terminals and all available transport vehicles at full capacity nationwide, while bringing in additional sorting staff and temporary vehicles to ensure safe working conditions and uninterrupted delivery.

"During the chuseok peak season, we are focused on securing safety throughout every stage of freight movement and creating an environment where workers can do their jobs with peace of mind," a Hanjin official said.

Meanwhile, Hanjin recently introduced an "AI Safety Guardian" system to improve operational efficiency. The system analyzes footage from terminal security cameras in real time using AI technology, detecting potential hazards and helping prevent accidents.
