Publication bridges 3 million Incheon residents and 7 million overseas Koreans
Inaugural issue includes settlement guide for Songdo District 11 and beyond
Incheon Global City Development (IGCD) has launched a quarterly newsletter, Songdo Gongam, aimed at connecting Incheon's 3 million residents with 7 million overseas Koreans, releasing the inaugural autumn 2026 issue this week.
Songdo Gongam covers urban development and apartment complex news in Songdo International City, along with lifestyle and cultural information and stories from residents.
The publication also serves as a communication channel to strengthen the Korean diaspora network by introducing developments in the homeland and settlement support programs available to overseas Koreans.
The inaugural issue spotlights IGCD's key achievements in developing residential complexes for foreign residents. It covers progress on phases one and two of American Town and includes a pre-sale and investment guide for the third phase — "Homing Roots Songdo," a 1,700-unit development planned for Songdo District 11 — to help prospective residents understand the global living conditions on offer.
The issue also features an analysis and outlook on Songdo's urban value by Seo Jong-guk, an emeritus professor at Incheon National University and IGCD board member, along with the winning entries from a memoir contest held to mark IGCD's 12th anniversary. Lifestyle and cultural content rounds out the issue: five recommended autumn foliage spots in Incheon, a waterfront cultural complex called Croquet House, and a wellness running course in Songdo.
"We will provide regular updates on project timelines and construction progress, with the view that a pre-sale is not the end but a new beginning," IGCD CEO Jeong Geun-yeong said. "We will continue building an archive that records the residential value of global Songdo and the stories of its neighbors."
Songdo Gongam will be published quarterly each season. IGCD plans to steadily expand resident-participation events and community content centered on on-the-ground stories in future issues.
