District mayor attends chuseok celebration at Gangseo Senior Welfare Center
Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon visited a local welfare center Wednesday to mark the chuseok holiday, engaging in hands-on community outreach.
Jin attended a chuseok celebration at the Gangseo Senior Welfare Center, where he joined elderly residents in tuho — a traditional Korean ring-toss game — and helped serve lunch while checking in on their health and well-being.
The event drew about 150 senior residents and featured a range of programs, including traditional games and a singing contest.
Local companies also took part in the spirit of giving. Employees from Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and Korean Air C&D Services — an in-flight catering company based in the district — prepared and served a special lunch of 600 portions for welfare center residents.
"I came here with the same heart as visiting my parents back in my hometown," Jin said. "As the cool autumn breeze sets in, I hope you take extra care of your health and enjoy a warm and bountiful chuseok."
