TaylorMade unveiled the P·8CB Midnight Obsidian, a color-update edition of its P·8CB forged iron developed for Korean golfers, on Wednesday.
The P·8CB Midnight Obsidian is a limited-edition model that applies a new design to the P·8CB — itself a more forgiving take on the tour-proven P·7CB. The colorway pairs midnight black, inspired by obsidian, a naturally occurring black gemstone, with gold accents.
The head is forged from 1025C mild steel using an ultra-high-density forging process (CGF process) at approximately 2,000 tons. TaylorMade said the design delivers the same soft feel as the P·7CB while offering greater forgiveness through a larger head size.
The men's set comprises eight clubs: 5- through 9-irons, a pitching wedge, and 50- and 56-degree wedges. All are fitted with an NS 950 BLACK shaft.
"This product maintains the stroke feel of a forged iron proven by tour players while enhancing forgiveness so more golfers can play with confidence," said Im Heon-yeong, president of TaylorMade Korea.
