CJ CheilJedang announced Friday it will donate food to vulnerable residents in North Jeolla Province ahead of chuseok, in partnership with the nonprofit Huimang-eul Nanunun Saramdeul (People Who Share Hope). The drive marks the company's first joint donation effort with the organization.
Items to be distributed include soups, porridges, fermented pastes, Spam and olive oil. The goods will reach vulnerable households across North Jeolla Province through Huimang-eul Nanunun Saramdeul and the Jeonbuk Chamjoeun Sarang Nanum Community Service Corps.
CJ CheilJedang plans to follow up the North Jeolla drive with a similar effort in South Gyeongsang Province, with a broader goal of expanding food support through the organization's 30 regional hubs nationwide.
"We will continue to engage with local communities and extend our care and support to underserved neighbors," a company official said.
