Actor Lee Cheong-a faces exit from upcoming drama series after traffic accident injury

Actor Lee Cheong-a is at risk of dropping out of her upcoming drama series after a traffic accident left her with a back injury.

According to Lee's agency, Management Soop, Lee has been suffering from back complications following a traffic accident last month.

She continued filming after the accident while undergoing treatment, but her condition worsened as a pre-existing back problem was aggravated.

The injury has disrupted production of the noir drama series "Gobungobun Killer," in which Lee plays an assassin. Because the role requires action sequences that strain her back, her agency and the production team are discussing the filming schedule and whether she will leave the project.

Lee was also involved in a traffic accident in August last year and sustained injuries at the time. She later revealed that she had been unable to receive adequate treatment because filming for the drama series "Honor: Their Courtroom" began shortly after, forcing her to push through back and neck pain on set.

Appearing on the YouTube channel "Yoo Yeon-seok's Weekend Theater," she said, "I injured my hip in a traffic accident when the drama started in August last year. I missed the critical treatment window because of filming, and the pain spread to my back and neck. Once filming wraps, I plan to rest and recover for a few days."
