National Pension Service student ambassadors honor fallen heroes at Seoul National Cemetery

The National Pension Service said Friday it carried out a community service campaign in Daejeon with its student ambassadors, focusing on environmental protection, sharing and honoring the spirit of national sacrifice.

More than 50 student ambassadors took part in the event. The ambassadors serve as public outreach representatives for the National Pension Service, producing content and conducting on-site promotional activities to make the pension system more accessible and approachable to the public.

The ambassadors first received training on the value and principles of volunteering at a local volunteer center, then produced 150 eco-friendly detergent kits to be donated to free meal services in the Daejeon area.

They then visited Seoul National Cemetery, paying their respects at the Tower of Patriots and tidying grave sites to honor those who gave their lives for the country.

"The lives we enjoy today are the result of the dedication and efforts of past generations," National Pension Service Chairman Kim Sung-joo said. "The National Pension Service will continue to engage with future generations and expand activities that promote the value of mutual prosperity."
