Lady Gaga, 40, welcomes daughter via surrogate

Pop star Lady Gaga, 40, and her fiancé Michael Polansky, 42, have welcomed a daughter via surrogate, according to reports.

The couple's daughter was born through a surrogate, US entertainment outlet TMZ reported Thursday. Her name is Rose Binn Polansky.

According to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ, Rose was born at 11:19 p.m. on June 9 in Los Angeles.

Neither Gaga nor Polansky has issued an official statement about the birth.

The reason Gaga chose to use a surrogate has not been disclosed. However, TMZ noted that Gaga has previously spoken about living with fibromyalgia, a condition marked by chronic pain and fatigue.

Gaga discussed her chronic pain publicly in the 2017 Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two." In 2025, she said her fibromyalgia symptoms were well managed but that she still has painful days.

The baby's name also appears to carry personal significance for Gaga. The singer had a rose tattooed on her back to commemorate her performance of "La Vie en Rose" in the film "A Star Is Born," and her hit "Born This Way" was reportedly inspired by LGBTQ rights activist Karl Binn.

Gaga and Polansky got engaged in 2024. The couple was recently spotted taking a walk together, with Gaga cradling their daughter.
