Heemangeul Naneuneun Saramdeul, a nonprofit organization, said it delivered food donations to low-income and vulnerable residents in North Jeolla Province ahead of chuseok, with support from CJ CheilJedang.
The initiative was organized to bring warmth to marginalized neighbors in the region facing financial hardship during the holiday season.
The groceries sponsored by CJ CheilJedang are being distributed to low-income households and residents in welfare blind spots through Chamjoeun Sarang Nanum Gongdongche, a local sharing community.
"We joined this effort hoping our neighbors would have a warm holiday, and we will continue working toward coexistence with local communities," a CJ CheilJedang official said.
"The food support will be a great help, as these are essentials people truly need during the holidays," a Chamjoeun Sarang Nanum Gongdongche official said. "We will make sure everything reaches those who need it."
Kim Jeong-an, chairman of Heemangeul Naneuneun Saramdeul, said the organization is grateful to CJ CheilJedang and Chamjoeun Sarang Nanum Gongdongche for their heartfelt contributions, and pledged to continue sharing efforts for those in need.
