Cho Min, daughter of Rebuilding Korea Party policy research institute head Cho Kuk and chief executive of a cosmetics brand, announced that her scheduled appearance on a Lotte Home Shopping mobile live broadcast was canceled roughly 90 minutes before it was set to air.
Writing on her SNS account Friday, Cho said she was responding to questions about the sudden cancellation after confirming the facts. "About 90 minutes before the broadcast, I received notice from the home shopping channel to the effect that they were canceling because they were concerned it could stir controversy internally and externally," she said.
Earlier Friday, Cho had posted on her personal channel that the Lotte Home Shopping L.Live broadcast scheduled for 8 p.m. had been called off "due to circumstances at the head office, with just one hour to go."
"I had been preparing for months, so I feel a great sense of disappointment," she wrote, apologizing to viewers for the abrupt cancellation.
Cho added that she would hold her own live broadcast in place of the canceled slot and announced that, as an apology, she would offer free shipping on orders of 50,000 won ($36) or more at her own expense.
After questions continued to pour in about the reasons behind the cancellation, Cho posted a further statement Friday.
Cho entered the cosmetics business and officially launched her brand in November 2024. She currently serves as chief executive of the operating company Sajeoktpyosi Co.
