Yeo Esther confesses frustration with husband after moving in together: 'Everything he does gets on my nerves'

Yeo Esther, a physician and businesswoman, has opened up about her frustrations since moving in with her husband, Hong Hye-geol, revealing she is considering living apart again.

A video titled "Yeo Esther's Secret Advice Vlog" was posted Friday on her YouTube channel, "Yeo Esther's Esther TV."

In the video, Yeo spent time sharing her troubles with a generative AI chatbot.

She began by saying, "I'm 61, and my husband and I had been living separately — he in Jeju, I in Seoul — in a kind of friendly indifference. We recently moved in together, but as time goes on, every little thing he does gets on my nerves."

She continued: "He leaves water all over the bathroom floor. And what do you call it — a spending habit? He appears on YouTube once a week, and he goes out and buys 20 to 30 shirts. Then he says they weren't expensive. I'm seriously wondering whether to send him back down to Jeju."

The AI's response drew laughs. "When you're living apart, you think, 'Still, he's my husband.' But the moment he moves in, it turns into, 'Why on earth does he act like that?'" it said. "Never mind whether 20 or 30 shirts are expensive — just seeing delivery boxes piled up in the living room is enough to make anyone's blood boil."

Yeo replied, "Even our housekeeper was shocked," to which the AI responded, "If the words 'even our housekeeper' are coming out of your mouth, it means you haven't let it go yet."

At that point, Yeo cut the conversation short. "Listening to you is actually making me angrier," she said. "Let's end it here" — a remark that sent viewers into fits of laughter.

Meanwhile, Yeo was born in May 1965 and is 61 years old, while Hong was born in February 1967 and is 59. Both are Seoul National University-trained physicians who married in 1994 and have two sons together. Yeo currently runs a health supplement company, and Hong operates the YouTube medical channel "Bion Dwi" ("After the Rain"), where he engages with the public.
