Garden, French culture and light festival events kicked off Friday; performances, AI and robot experiences and more continue through Sunday as part of the main Guro G Festival program.
Guro-gu launched the 2026 Guro G Festival on Friday, with the Guro Garden Festa, a French Culture Festival and the Anyangcheon Light Festival all opening at the Anyangcheon ecological wildflower garden.
Visitors explored garden exhibitions and hands-on activities at the Guro Garden Festa and sampled French food and culture at the French Culture Festival. After sunset, lighting installations and luminous sculptures scattered across the wildflower garden drew crowds along the garden paths and walkways well into the night.
At a lighting ceremony held at 8:30 p.m. that evening, Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong joined attendees to mark the official start of the Anyangcheon Light Festival. As the lights came on, the wildflower garden was bathed in a spectrum of colors, drawing visitors late into the night.
The festival continues through the weekend. The main Guro G Festival program runs Saturday and Sunday along Anyangcheon, offering performances, AI and robot experiences, world culture activities and a food market, among other programs.
On Saturday evening, an opening ceremony will be followed by performances by Lee Jae-hoon and Kim Hyun-jung. On Sunday morning, a "Guro Carbon Zero Walk" will take place along Anyangcheon, and in the evening a "Top 10 Gayo Show" featuring Park Seo-jin, Jin-seong, Ahn Seong-hun and My Jin will close out the festival.
The Guro Garden Festa and French Culture Festival also run through Sunday. The Anyangcheon Light Festival continues through Sept. 30, allowing visitors to enjoy the wildflower garden's nighttime scenery even after the main G Festival wraps up.
"Many people came out to Anyangcheon and enjoyed the festival with us from the very first day," District Mayor Jang said. "We hope everyone will come out to Anyangcheon this weekend and enjoy an autumn festival close to home, as there is plenty to see and do through Sunday."
