Amid growing buzz over luxury cruise calls to Korea — most recently the World's visit to Busan and Sokcho with foreign passengers on board — Star Cruises, one of Asia's leading cruise lines, has unveiled a half-price promotion for Korean travelers aboard its Star Voyager.
Star Voyager recently announced an extension of its Singapore home-port operations, releasing a range of Southeast Asian cruise itineraries departing from Singapore and Malaysia from Sept. 25 through Jan. 1, 2027.
As part of the extension, the line is offering up to 50 percent off on Singapore-departing cruises sailing between Sept. 25 and Nov. 20. The promotion runs through Sept. 30 or until cabins sell out, and may end earlier depending on availability.
According to S-Marketing, Star Cruises' Korea office, the standout itinerary in the promotion is a three-night cruise from Singapore calling at Port Klang or Malacca and Penang. The route lets travelers visit several Malaysian destinations in a short trip, combining city tourism in Singapore with the diverse culture and cuisine of Malaysia. Passengers can also relax on board between ports, making it possible to enjoy both travel and leisure at the same time.
The itinerary suits families, couples and groups of friends who cannot take extended leave, and also serves as an accessible introduction to cruise travel for first-timers looking to experience an Asian cruise without a heavy commitment.
Promotional fares vary by cabin category and departure date. The three-night Port Klang/Malacca–Penang cruise starts at around 450,000 won ($326) per person. The third and fourth passengers sharing a cabin with two full-fare guests pay 50 percent of the promotional rate.
Star Voyager is equipped with a range of dining, entertainment and leisure facilities, allowing passengers to treat the voyage itself as part of the experience — relaxing on board while exploring local culture and cuisine at each port of call.
During the extended operating period, the ship will also offer two-, three- and four-night itineraries from Singapore, as well as departures from Port Klang and Malacca in Malaysia.
Depending on the route, passengers can visit major Southeast Asian destinations including Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang, Pangkor and Langkawi, as well as Phuket and Krabi in Thailand, giving travelers a wide range of options to match their schedules and interests.
"Singapore is a convenient cruise hub connecting major Asian cities, and at the same time an attractive destination in its own right for food, shopping and tourism," a Star Cruises Korea office official said. "We hope this 50 percent discount promotion will give more travelers the chance to experience an Asian cruise aboard Star Voyager without hesitation."
