Performances, AI, robot and VR experiences draw crowds along Anyangcheon; a 'Top 10 Gayo Show' and fireworks cap the festival Sunday evening
Guro-gu said large crowds have turned out over the weekend for the 2026 Guro G Festival along Anyangcheon, enjoying a wide range of performances and hands-on programs.
The festival grounds feature dedicated experience zones where visitors can try out cutting-edge technology including AI, robots and virtual reality. Children played Go against a robot, created artwork with an AI painter robot and put on VR headsets to explore virtual worlds.
Experience and vendor booths set up along Anyangcheon drew steady foot traffic, while families relaxed together on the lawn and in designated rest areas throughout the grounds.
The festival's opening ceremony was held Saturday evening, with the Guro Citizens Award presented to residents who have contributed to the local community. Singers Lee Jae-hoon and Kim Hyeon-jeong then took the stage, drawing an enthusiastic response from the crowd.
Programming continues Sunday, the festival's final day. A "Guro Carbon Zero Walking Event" was held in the morning, followed by ongoing AI, robot and world culture experience programs. In the evening, the "Top 10 Gayo Show" — featuring Park Seo-jin, Jin Seong, Ahn Seong-hun and My Jin — will close out the festival alongside a fireworks display.
Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong thanked all visitors who came out to Anyangcheon over the weekend. "There are still plenty of performances and attractions to enjoy through Sunday evening, so I hope everyone will stay and celebrate the final moments of the festival together," he said.
