Broadcaster Park Eun-ji rushes back to Korea as father hospitalized in ICU

Broadcaster and former weather forecaster Park Eun-ji has revealed that she rushed back to Korea to be by her father's side.

Park wrote on her Instagram account Wednesday that she had "actually been incredibly busy lately," adding that her father was in critical condition in the intensive care unit and that she had hurried back to Korea.

Park currently lives in Los Angeles.

"Thursday — he has finally completed intensive treatment, and we completed the transfer process to move him to another hospital," she wrote. "I cannot let my guard down just yet, but I am relieved that I can breathe just a little easier."

She added that over the past two weeks she had visited her father at the hospital four to five evenings a week while fitting in work during the day.

Park said seeing the elderly patients in the ICU gave her much to think about. "They must have all lived such full, active lives in their prime, each fighting hard in their own way," she wrote. "Seeing them lying in hospital beds now was truly heartbreaking."

She went on to say, "Life is ultimately a journey we come into alone and leave alone, and that road can sometimes be very lonely." She added that she intended to visit her father every day while she remained in Korea, and pledged to cherish each day given to her and live with no regrets, keeping her father in her heart.
