For 'lifetime engine oil' customers
Two- and three-year plans cover filters, brake pads and more
Parts and labor price hikes won't affect package holders
Incheon Seohai center opens after Seongdong, Gangneung expansions this year
Hansung Motor, the official Mercedes-Benz partner in South Korea, has launched a vehicle maintenance package that bundles the cost of key consumable replacements — including filters and brake pads — into a single upfront purchase. Once enrolled, customers pay no additional charges for covered items within the agreed number of service visits, even if parts prices or labor rates rise.
Hansung Motor announced Monday the launch of its "Maintenance Package," which combines scheduled inspections with replacements of major consumables.
The package is available to customers already enrolled in Hansung Motor's "lifetime engine oil" service, extending coverage beyond engine oil to other components and consumables that require periodic replacement.
The package comes in two- and three-year plans. The two-year plan covers cabin air filters, dust filters and an air cleaner, as well as front and rear brake pads, brake fluid and wiper blades.
The three-year plan adds front and rear brake discs and increases the number of available service visits for select items, including dust filters, brake fluid and wiper blades.
Customers who purchase the package before their Mercedes-Benz Korea Integrated Service Package (ISP) expires will have their usage period begin only after the ISP ends. The effective coverage period is two and a half years for the two-year plan and three and a half years for the three-year plan.
Any increases in parts prices or labor rates after enrollment will not affect package holders — all covered items remain available at no extra cost within the contracted number of visits. All maintenance is carried out at official Hansung Motor service centers using genuine parts.
Hansung Motor has been stepping up investment in after-sales service as well as vehicle sales. The company said the shift reflects its view that service competitiveness among dealers has grown more important since Mercedes-Benz Korea introduced its new sales model, "Retail of the Future" (RoF).
The company expanded its Seongdong service center in January and scaled up its Gangneung center in February, then opened a new Incheon Seohai service center in March. It also operates an in-house technician training program called the "AS Academy."
"We hope this Maintenance Package will ease the burden of vehicle upkeep for our customers and allow them to experience Hansung Motor's professional service more conveniently," said Kim Marco, chief executive of Hansung Motor. "Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our service network and expertise to deliver a differentiated after-sales experience that customers can feel long after their purchase."
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Korea is currently accepting domestic pre-orders for its new electric vehicle, the all-new electric CLA. The starting price listed on the Korean website is 52.9 million won ($38,200), and the model signals an expansion of Mercedes-Benz's next-generation electric vehicle lineup.
