Lotte department store to host La Liga webtoon pop-up from Thursday

Lotte Department Store will open a La Liga webtoon-themed pop-up store Thursday at the first-floor atrium of Lotte World Mall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. La Liga is Spain's top professional football league.

The event is a collaboration with Altava Group, the official La Liga webtoon licensee. Players from seven clubs — FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Valencia CF, Real Betis, Athletic Club and Real Sociedad — have been reimagined as webtoon characters for the occasion.

The venue is divided into four themed zones: a welcome zone, a character gallery, a screen zone and a store-and-customization zone. Merchandise ranges from FC Barcelona home replica jerseys bearing Lamine Yamal's name and number, imported directly from Spain, to keyrings, plush toys and other webtoon character goods.

Visitors also have a chance to win a jersey bearing the autograph of Lee Kang-in. Random boxes containing lucky-draw entry tickets will go on sale in limited quantities of 100 per day. An on-site customization zone will offer jersey personalization services, including the option to have Lee's name and number printed on a shirt. Gifts will also be available based on purchase amounts.

After its run at Lotte World Mall, the pop-up will travel to Lotte Department Store's Busan main branch and Timevillas Suwon. "We hope the La Liga webtoon pop-up becomes a memorable outing destination for customers in their 20s and 30s as well as families," said Yoon Seok-ran, head of the Next Contents Lab 2 team at Lotte Department Store.
