Sangmidang Holdings delivers Chuseok gifts to Seoul sanitation workers

Sangmidang Holdings said Monday it delivered 26,000 Samlip "Chokchok Cheesecake" snacks to about 2,600 sanitation workers affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Government labor union.

The handover ceremony was held at the Seoul Metropolitan Government Labor Union's main conference room in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Union executives, Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairman Lim Man-gyun and Sangmidang Council Chairman Do Se-ho were among those in attendance.

Sangmidang Holdings has made a practice of supporting Seoul's sanitation workers. Last July, the company donated 130 million won ($93,900) in gift vouchers redeemable at affiliate brands including Paris Baguette, Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin'. That December, it delivered 26,000 Samlip steamed buns.

"The clean streets and pleasant environment we enjoy every day exist because of the sanitation workers who quietly pour their sweat into the job," Do said. "I find it deeply meaningful that we have now been able to carry on this relationship and express our gratitude for a third time."
