Ferrari Korea signs MOU with Seoul National University engineering center

Ferrari Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding with Seoul National University's Industry-Academia Cooperation Engineering Talent Support Center to expand mutual exchange, the company announced Tuesday. The signing ceremony was attended by Ferrari Korea CEO Thibaut Dusart, center Director Kwak Seung-yeop and other senior representatives from both sides.

The company said the agreement builds on the center's SNU Mobility Renovatio program, aiming to broaden contact with next-generation engineering talent and strengthen industry-academia cooperation in the future mobility sector.

The two parties plan to explore a wide range of practical collaboration opportunities across areas of mutual interest — including special lectures and technology seminars, exchange programs linking SNU students with major Ferrari Korea events, and initiatives to share industry knowledge and deepen understanding of global manufacturing environments. Specific activities will be identified and rolled out in stages through further consultation.

"It is meaningful to have created an opportunity for ongoing exchange with Seoul National University, home to some of Korea's finest engineering talent," Ferrari Korea CEO Thibaut Dusart said. "I hope Ferrari's accumulated expertise in advanced engineering and innovation will offer students who will lead tomorrow's technologies a new perspective and a source of inspiration."

Ferrari has consistently expanded its engagement with next-generation engineering talent through a variety of exchange programs with SNU students. At the recent unveiling of the Luce — Ferrari's first fully electric vehicle — an SNU student served as a professional docent, introducing the car's innovative interior technology.

In January, Ferrari Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni visited Korea and held a special meeting with SNU design students. In 2024, doctoral students from SNU's College of Engineering were invited to Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello, Italy, where they engaged in technical exchanges with Ferrari engineers to discuss research topics.

Meanwhile, Ferrari recently unveiled the 296 GT Modificata, a track-only GT model pushed to the limits of performance.

The new model was developed exclusively for the Club Competizioni GT program, a non-competitive track event for Ferrari customers.
