Event in Seongsu-dong draws 6,000 visitors; advance tickets sell out early
CPLB, the private-brand subsidiary of Coupang Inc, said it held the Coupang Only Festa in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from Thursday to Sunday, drawing more than 6,000 visitors over the four-day run.
The event showcased more than 700 products in total — over 600 from Coupang's private-label brands, including Gomgom, Comet and Tamsa, alongside more than 100 from small and midsize manufacturers' own brands. The roughly 1,980-square-meter venue spanned an outdoor area and two floors, with the entire mezzanine level dedicated to small and midsize manufacturer brands.
Seo Beom-jun, chief executive of Pureun, which produces Gomgom-brand mandu and fried rice, called the event "a precious stage for meeting consumers directly and hearing their feedback." Shin Gwon-sik, a director at SC Korea, which supplies Comet-brand zipper bags and parchment paper, said his company had few chances to tell consumers directly about its manufacturing strengths built up over the years, and called the event meaningful.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, a pop-up "Gomgom Restaurant" operated outdoors, offering tastings of dishes made with Gomgom-brand products — including meat, vegetables, tteokbokki rice cakes, mandu and sauces — sourced from different manufacturers.
CPLB Chief Executive Jeon Gyeong-su said the company would continue listening to customers and partners and expand opportunities for competitive small and midsize manufacturers to introduce their products and technology to more consumers.
