Lee So-young appointed on same day committee adopts hearing report
President Lee Jae Myung on Tuesday approved the appointments of Lee So-young as minister of SMEs and Startups and Lee Jeong-hyeon as deputy prosecutor general of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. The president is currently in New York attending the UN General Assembly.
The National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee adopted the confirmation hearing report for Lee So-young that day with agreement from both the ruling and opposition parties. The report included a favorable assessment from the ruling party and an unfavorable one from the opposition.
Lee is expected to begin her first day in office Wednesday with a field visit to the Greater Seoul area.
