HL Robotics, Samsung C&T team up to bring parking robot Parkie to residential complexes

HL Robotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of HL Holdings, announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Samsung C&T's construction division to develop next-generation residential solutions based on its autonomous parking robot, Parkie.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding at the Raemian Gallery in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on Tuesday. HL Robotics CEO Kim Yun-gi, Senior Managing Director Kim Tae-jun, Samsung C&T Executive Vice President Cho Hye-jeong and Managing Director Hyeong Si-won attended the signing ceremony.

The partnership aims to create a next-generation smart residential environment under the banner of "zero parking stress." The goal goes beyond parking convenience — the companies intend to transform the daily routines of apartment residents by integrating HL Robotics' robot control system with Samsung C&T's integrated residential lifestyle platform, Homeniq, to make autonomous valet parking a seamless part of everyday life.

The collaboration begins with the deployment of two Parkie units at the Raemian Gallery in Songpa-gu. Parkie is an indoor autonomous mobile robot developed in-house by HL Robotics. It slides under a vehicle, lifts the chassis and autonomously transports it to a designated parking spot. HL Robotics completed its first pilot at a content industry support center in North Chungcheong Province in September last year and is currently preparing a service for visitors at Gimpo Airport.

The companies plan to expand deployment to new Raemian residential complexes, redevelopment projects and remodeling projects after completing a validation process that includes accumulating operational data, stabilizing the system and testing entry and exit scenarios. The two sides also agreed to cooperate on securing intellectual property rights and developing concrete commercialization plans.

"We will refine our parking robot solution to deliver new experiences to customers and broaden our business into the smart residential service market."
