Actor Han Da-gam gives birth to son at 46, hailed as oldest new mother in entertainment

Actor Han Da-gam, 46, widely described as the oldest new mother in the Korean entertainment industry, has welcomed a son six years after her marriage.

Han gave birth to a boy Tuesday afternoon at a maternity clinic in Seoul. Both mother and child are in good health and resting comfortably in the care of family, according to sources in the entertainment industry.

Han had announced her pregnancy in April through a handwritten letter, drawing widespread attention at the time.

"I debuted in my 20s and spent years running forward without looking back — then I got married at 41, and now, in our sixth year of marriage, we have been blessed by heaven with a child," she wrote. "I still can't believe it."

She added that she was deeply grateful for "such a great blessing and gift at this late stage," and credited years of dedicated exercise and careful diet management for helping her reach this point. "As the oldest mother, I will work out even harder, take even better care of myself, and set out on a second chapter of my life," she said.

Han is set to share moments from the birth — including her first meeting with the baby — on the KBS 2TV variety program "Superman Is Back."

Born in September 1980, Han made her debut in 1999 in the drama series "Sarangeul Wihayeo" (For Love) and went on to appear in "Full House," "Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child" and "Golden Cross." She was originally known by her birth name Han Eun-jeong before changing it in 2018, and married a businessman one year her senior in 2020.
