Citibank Korea nominates deputy head Kim Kyung-ho as next president

Citibank Korea's executive candidate recommendation committee announced Wednesday that it has nominated Kim Kyung-ho, deputy head of the corporate banking group, as its final candidate for the next bank president.

The committee said it selected Kim after comprehensively evaluating his mid- to long-term management vision and strategy, internal and external communication skills, leadership capabilities, management competence and expertise, and insight into the financial industry.

Kim joined the bank in 2001 and has held key leadership roles in corporate banking and financial institution sales. He has served as deputy head of the corporate banking group since 2021.

Kim is set to be formally appointed as the next Citibank Korea president on Oct. 27, pending approval by a shareholder meeting and the board of directors.

Since its launch in 2004, Citibank Korea has been led exclusively by internally promoted executives for 22 years. Kim's appointment, if confirmed, would extend that streak.
