Lock In Smart Asset Management: Yangcheon-gu Hosts 2026 Real Estate Tax Seminar!

Yangcheon-gu will host the "2026 Real Estate Tax Seminar" on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at Haenuri Hall in Haenuri Town, aiming to help residents better understand real estate tax regulations and access practical tax information.

Resident inquiries about real estate taxes — including capital gains tax on housing — have surged in recent months following the announcement of a tax reform package in August and the active progress of redevelopment and reconstruction projects across the district.

In response, the district organized this year's seminar — its first dedicated to real estate taxation — to help residents navigate complex tax questions and manage their assets more effectively. The event is linked to the National Tax Service's outreach tax education program and will focus primarily on capital gains tax, a topic of particular interest among residents, with content drawn from real-life applications.

The lecture will be delivered by Kim Ri-seok, a certified public accountant specializing in capital gains tax who serves as an external professor for the National Tax Service's taxpayer tax law education program and has authored books on real estate taxation, including one on tax-saving strategies in real estate.

The session will cover key tax concepts including capital gains tax, with practical case-based explanations of: the one-household, one-home capital gains tax exemption and related special provisions; points to note regarding temporary two-home ownership and the long-term holding special deduction; and major tax issues and tax-saving strategies that redevelopment and reconstruction association members need to know.

Following the lecture, one-on-one tax consultations will be available to help residents address their individual tax concerns in greater depth. Fifteen pre-registered participants will be selected for in-depth consultations covering capital gains tax and related questions tailored to their personal circumstances.

The seminar is open to all Yangcheon-gu residents with an interest in real estate taxation, with a total of 300 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Yangcheon-gu District Mayor Lee Gi-jae said taxes directly affect residents' lives and assets, making careful guidance essential so that people can respond to changing tax rules without confusion. "We will continue to expand tax administration services tailored to residents' needs and build an administration that earns their trust," he said.
