2026 Yeongju Museom single-log bridge festival opens Oct. 3 at Museom Village

The 2026 Yeongju Museom Oenamudarifestival — a celebration centered on a traditional single-log bridge — will run Oct. 3–4 at Museom Village in Munsu-myeon, Yeongju, connecting people across time in one of the country's best-preserved historic villages.

According to the Yeongju Culture and Tourism Foundation on Wednesday, the festival is themed "Museom: Crossing Time, Connecting People." It will feature signature programs including a single-log bridge performance, a traditional wedding reenactment and a traditional funeral procession reenactment, alongside a variety of programs bringing together village residents and visitors.

This year, organizers have significantly expanded tailored hands-on experience programs at individual historic houses, allowing visitors to stroll through the village and engage directly with its heritage rather than simply watching from the sidelines.

The experiences, each designed to reflect the character of a particular historic house, are linked to a stamp tour that guides visitors naturally through the village's alleyways and traditional homes.

There is also a rich lineup of activities for children and families.

A children's sand playground will be on offer, along with sand-art, sand-sculpture and healing rope-playground activities. Programs letting visitors experience traditional everyday life — including well-drawing, rope-twisting and a traditional fishing experience known as "gyemegi" — will also be available.

The main stage will host a range of performances, including "Museom Byeolgok," "Museom Heungmadang," "Dendong Eomi Hwajeon-ga," a traditional narrative song, and performances by local artists.

Exhibition spaces and photo spots will be set up throughout the festival grounds, offering visitors a variety of sights and activities to enjoy at Museom Village.
