iM Bank holds Chuseok rice cake-sharing event for vulnerable residents

iM Bank held a Chuseok rice cake-sharing event Tuesday in partnership with the city of Daegu and the Daegu chapter of the Korean Red Cross to support vulnerable residents in the region. The event, held at the Daegu chapter of the Korean Red Cross, drew about 100 attendees, including Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho, iM Bank Executive Vice President Shin Yong-pil, Korean Red Cross Daegu Chapter Chairman Bae In-ho, bank executives and employees, student brand ambassadors and Red Cross volunteers. iM Bank contributed 10 million won ($7,350) to sponsor the event. A total of 930 kilograms of songpyeon — traditional half-moon-shaped rice cakes — prepared for the occasion were distributed to 930 low-income households across Daegu, with each household receiving 1 kilogram. "We hope the songpyeon that each organization has prepared with care ahead of Chuseok will bring a small measure of comfort and encouragement to our neighbors in the community," bank President Kang Jeong-hun said.
