Korea National Railway to hire 184 staff in second half of 2026

Korea National Railway announced Monday it will hire a total of 184 people in the second half of 2026, comprising 103 new and experienced staff and 80 youth interns. The recruitment drive aims to expand quality employment and strengthen the organization's capacity to build and manage railways in the future.

By category, the hiring plan covers 46 college-level positions in administration, civil engineering, architecture, electrical, communications and mechanical fields; 4 positions for people with disabilities in administration, civil engineering, electrical and mechanical roles; 6 positions under the veterans preference track in administration, civil engineering, architecture and electrical fields; 11 high school-level positions in administration, civil engineering, architecture, electrical and mechanical fields; 12 experienced hires; 24 operational staff for national critical facility security, facility management and cleaning services; 1 contract position for a national R&D commissioned researcher; and 80 experiential youth interns.

The recruitment also includes experienced-hire selections to strengthen specialized expertise in law, taxation and labor affairs, alongside socially equitable hiring tracks for people with disabilities and veterans, broadening employment opportunities for young job seekers.

In addition, Korea National Railway will recruit for national critical facility security and cleaning positions — job categories that give hiring priority to middle-aged and older workers — to expand employment opportunities for older adults.

Applications will be accepted online through Korea National Railway's recruitment website from Wednesday through Oct. 7. Final successful candidates are expected to be announced in December, following document screening, written and interview rounds.

Meanwhile, Korea National Railway conducted its first round of hiring in April, selecting a total of 127 people.
