Barber shops, hair salons and bathhouses eligible
Pocheon is accepting applications from local businesses to join its second-half 2026 Hyodeurim senior discount program through Oct. 16.
The Hyodeurim program offers discounts on barber, hair salon and bathhouse services to residents aged 70 and older.
The initiative aligns with the city's slogan, "Greater Pocheon, Greater Happiness," and aims to support the health and well-being of elderly residents while encouraging a culture of voluntary community giving among local business owners.
Eligible applicants are barber shops, hair salons and bathhouses registered with Pocheon. Selected businesses will offer discounts of up to 10 percent on service fees to Pocheon residents aged 70 and older, with each business setting its own rate within that ceiling.
In return, the city will provide participating businesses with an official Hyodeurim discount signboard and garbage bags, and will promote them through the city's website and social media channels.
The city will select up to eight businesses on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested businesses may apply by Oct. 16 by visiting the public hygiene team at the Pocheon Public Health Center's food and hygiene division, or by submitting applications by email, fax or mail.
Application forms are available for download on the Pocheon city website under "Sector Information > Health/Environment/Hygiene > Food/Hygiene > Hyodeurim." Completed forms should be submitted to the public hygiene team at the food and hygiene division of the Pocheon Public Health Center.
