Yongsan-gu Launches Mock College Interview Program for 2027 Applicants

Yongsan-gu in Seoul will run a mock college interview program for local university applicants preparing for the 2027 admissions cycle.

The program is designed to give applicants a realistic preview of the interview process in a setting that closely mirrors an actual college interview, allowing them to assess their readiness and sharpen their interview skills.

Each session will be conducted in a 2:1 format, with two interviewers per student. The interviewers will be teachers from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's college guidance support team, all with extensive experience advising students on university admissions.

Participants will go through a roughly 15-minute mock interview followed by up to 30 minutes of individual feedback. Interviewers will evaluate the content and delivery of answers as well as overall interview demeanor, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement and offering concrete guidance that students can apply in actual interviews. Students who wish to may also have their session recorded so they can review their own performance.

The program will be held starting at 9 a.m. on Oct. 17 at the native-language classroom on the first floor of Yongsan Kkumnamu General Town. It is open to university applicants who live in Yongsan-gu or are enrolled as third-year high school students at a school in the district.

Registration opens at 10 a.m. Wednesday on "Yongsan Jinhak Pass," the district's dedicated college admissions portal. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and registration may close early once capacity is reached.

"Because interviews require you to convey your thoughts and abilities effectively within a limited time, sufficient practice and objective self-assessment are essential," Yongsan-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae said. "We will continue to provide practical college admissions support so that applicants can approach their interviews with confidence and achieve their goals."
